Last month, I watched the action film Lethal Weapon for the first time on my television set. It was released in 1987 and it stars Mel Gibson and Danny Glover.
I do not like the Mad
Max series starring Mel Gibson, so I had not watched many of his movies
until I did Ransom two months ago.
The 1996 movie was fun, then I did The
Expendables 3 in which I was fascinated by the presence of him. As a result,
I finally got interested in the popular Lethal Weapon series. The first
installment of it was more enjoyable than I had expected.
Mel Gibson gave a wonderful performance as Sergeant Riggs
who is a tough and amusing man but does not care about his life because he has
never been able to forget a sad memory. Riggs reminded me of the unusual Inspector
Harry Callahan dubbed Dirty Harry, Rambo who returned from Vietnam and madness
that the diminutive Al Pacino embodied in Scarface.
Danny Glover played an old sergeant who is the partner of Riggs. I first
watched Glover in Shooter when I was
not so impressed with him and I just thought that he resembles Sidney Poitier. However, he gave a superb performance as Sergeant Murtaugh. The buddy film
follows the two sergeant.
Sergeants Riggs and Murtaugh confront a drug trafficking organization in it. Both of them never give up on getting the criminals to the end helping and getting exhausted each other.
