The Blood of Wolves (2018)

The Blood of Wolves. A Japanese crime film. Directed by Kazuya Shiraishi. Based on the book with the same name written by Yuzuki Yuko. Starring Koji Yakusho and Tori Matsuzaka.

Yakuza movies are not my favorite. I saw the movie because the protagonists are police detectives, however, it told a story of yakuza. I wonder if the police associate with the gang at the highest levels even now.

The yakuza forces some men eat the pig excrement. The atrocities froze my blood. I was also surprised by the fact that a woman wrote the story. Then the truth was ridiculous.

Koji Yakusho's presence was wonderful. Tomoya Nakamura has now become a popular actor, so I was amused that he played a cheap punk in it.

虎狼の血(2018)

『虎狼の血』。日本の犯罪映画。白石和彌監督作。原作は柚月裕子の同名小説。主演は役所広司と松坂桃李。

暴力団物は好きではないが、刑事が主役なので観てみた。しかし、もろヤクザ映画だった。警察と暴力団は今も上ではつながっているのだろうか。

豚の糞を食わせるやくざたちの蛮行には肝が冷えた。この映画の原作が女性であることにも驚いた。そして、物語の真実が間抜けすぎた。

役所広司の存在感が素晴らしい。今や人気俳優の中村倫也のちんけなチンピラぶりも面白い。

The Hurt Locker (2008)

The Hurt Locker. An American war film. Directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Starring Jeremy Renner.

The film depicts the activities of a U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team in the Iraq War.

Although the pictures were tense and continuously drew me, yet I thought of it as common, so after watching it I was surprised with the fact that it won six Oscars in 2010. It would have resonated with American people because they were directly involved with the war. I was also done that the director is a woman. I admired her for superbly filming the manly world. Masculine women exist. So do feminine men. I noticed that film directors need not be male. 

ハート・ロッカー(2008)

『ハート・ロッカー』。アメリカの戦争映画。キャスリン・ビグロー監督作。主演はジェレミー・レナ―。

イラク戦争中のアメリカ軍危険物処理班の活躍が描かれている。

緊迫感あふれる映像に終始魅せられたが、それ以外は普通の戦争映画に思えた。だから、観賞後、アカデミー賞を6部門受賞していることに驚いた。戦争の当事者だったアメリカ人には心に響いたということか。だが、さらに驚いたのは、監督が女性だった事。あの男臭い世界をよくぞ描けたと感心した。男勝りの女性はいる。弱弱しい男もいる。監督が男でなければいけないというのは無いんだろうな。

Stare (2020)

Stare. A Japanese horror movie. Directed by Hirotaka Adachi.

My favorite actor Marie Iitoyo starred in it, so I watched it. She was lovely. I was sometimes frightened by the gruesome ghosts, however, that was all, moreover, I thought that I should not amusedly hear a scary story.

Ghosts in pictures are imaginary things, so they are not frightening that much, though I am briefly scared because I am a coward. I sort of believe stories of a curse and anathema, all the same, I do not like them and I do not want to think about them because they are creepy. You should not see hallucinations if you get a good sleep and rest your brain.  

シライサン(2020)

『シライサン』。日本のホラー。安達寛高監督作。

割と好きな飯豊まりえ主演ということで観てみた。彼女は可愛らしかった。しかし、陰惨な姿の幽霊に何度かビビったが、それだけだった。そして、怖い話って面白がって聴くべきではない、と思った。

映像の中の霊は、誰かの想像物なので、一時的にビビるだけでそこまで怖くは無い。呪いや祟りの話は、多少は信じているが、薄気味悪いし、好きではないし、考えたくもない。しっかり睡眠を取って脳を休ませれば幻覚を見ることも無いはずだ。

Trouble with the Curve (2012)

Trouble with the Curve. An American drama film. Directed by Robert Lorenz. Starring Clint Eastwood.

The story is filled with the love of baseball and of father and daughter. 

Clint Eastwood was amusing as a stubborn old man. Amy Adams was charming as his daughter. The film was quite good as a drama one. However, I thought that there is no way that a talent scout only analyzes data on his computer and never sees players, moreover, I felt that the development was too good to be accept in the last part. It might be okay because it is a film. All the same, I did not like it. I even thought that it would have been better if Clint had directed it.

Chatting with Clint, Scott Eastwood appears in the first part, which made me chuckle. The father and son are in good society.

人生の特等席(2012)

『人生の特等席』。アメリカのドラマ映画。ロバート・ロレンツ監督作。主演はクリント・イーストウッド。

野球愛と父娘愛に満ち溢れた物語。

イーストウッドの頑固爺ぶりが面白くてその娘を演じたエイミー・アダムスもまたチャーミングでなかなかのドラマだったが、パソコンのデータだけを見て選手を実際に見ないスカウトとか本当にいるのかとか思ったりした。最後の展開も出来すぎに感じた。映画だからあれでいいのかもしれないが、私は好きになれなかった。クリントが監督だったらとすら思ってしまった。

序盤でスコット・イーストウッドが父のクリントと喋りながら現れた時は少し笑ってしまった。仲が良い親子だ。

Blue Period (2024)

Blue Period. A Japanese coming-of-age film. Directed by Kentaro Hagiwara. An adaptation of the comic book with the same name portrayed by Tsubasa Yamaguchi. Starring Gordon Maeda.

The film depicts the youth of the people who really loves to paint pictures.

I was unfamiliar with painting because I was bad at it, so I got intrigued with the depth of portrayal and the young people's passion for success in the entrance exam of Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. I was also fascinated by the quiet style which is not so dramatic and has no cheap romance. I was electrified by how the true friendship develops between the protagonist and his true friends as he becomes enthusiastic for painting.

The tall Gordon Maeda looked good with blonde hair. He had an atmosphere of sorrow, which was awesome and beautiful. He was perfect for a picture. Rihito Itagaki, a diminutive, handsome man, gave a good performance as a young man who has trouble associating with others and looks geek. I was kind of surprised how jealously the man sees pretty satisfied persons because the Itagaki was far different from the Itagaki who I had watched before.

ブルーピリオド(2024)

『ブルーピリオド』。日本の青春映画。萩原健太郎監督作。原作は山口つばさ作の同名漫画。主演は眞栄田郷敦。

絵の魅力に取りつかれた若者たちの青春。

描画の奥深さや彼らの東京藝術大学を目指す情熱は絵心の無い私には興味深くて、それほど劇的ではなくて安っぽいロマンスも無い静かな作風にも魅せられた。主人公の絵画への情熱が高まるにつれて、なれ合いではない真の友人たちと彼と間に生まれた真の友情にもシビれた。

長身で金髪の似合う眞栄田郷敦の憂いのある佇まいがカッコよくて美しかった。絵になる男だ。小柄なイケメン、板垣李光人もコミュ障でおたくっぽい役を好演。リア充を僻んだ目で見る様が私の知っている彼と違っていて少し驚いた。
