Sound of Freedom (2023)

Sound of Freedom. An American drama film. Directed by Alejandro Monteverde. Starring Jim Caviezel.

It depicts the man who struggle to rescue a girl smuggled to the United States from a South American country.

The human trafficking syndicate and pedophiles were really hideous. A child abduction would not be awful if the payment of ransom would work out, however, it is a devilish deed if it leads to sexual commodification. Although black people were liberated in the United States, yet enslaving smuggled children seems to be rampant. What a sad reality. I got gloomy about the fact that the actual state of child abduction had never changed since the time when Man on Fire was released.

I felt that it was surely overdone to let people see the film for fee and send a message like grandstanding on the credits, though an ambitious person's bluff is not so bad if it is a good will. I suspect that people criticizing the movie might be pedophiles.

サウンド・オブ・フリーダム（2023）

『サウンド・オブ・フリーダム』。アメリカのドラマ映画。アレハンドロ・モンテベルデ監督作。主演はジム・カヴィーゼル。

南アメリカのある国からアメリカへ密輸入された少女を救うべく奮闘するある男の物語。

人身売買組織と小児性愛者の存在がおぞましい。幼児誘拐は、身代金で解決するならまだしも、性の商品化につながるとなると鬼畜の所業だ。アメリカでは、黒人は解放されたが、密輸入された児童の奴隷化が蔓延っているらしい。哀しい現実だ。2004年に公開された『マイ・ボディガード』の頃と小児誘拐の実態がそれほど変わっていないという現状にも暗澹となった。

無料で映画を観賞できるサービスやエンドロールでのスタンドプレイのようなメッセージは確かにやり過ぎの感はあるが、野心家のハッタリはそれが善意であればそれほど悪いものでも無い。本作を批判する人は小児性愛者かもと疑ってしまう。

Tom and Jerry (2021)

Tom and Jerry. An American comedy. Directed by Tim Story. Starring Chloë Grace Moretz.

It follows a young girl who starts to work at a hotel.

Tom and Jerry appear as animation characters in the live-action film, which looked to be odd, however, the lead, Chloë Grace Moretz, was really cute through.

Chloë as well as Elle Fanning has been adorable since she was a child actor. She recently came out as a gay woman criticizing Donald John Trump who are negative about LDGT. I have admiration for her courage.

Trump will be the next president of the United States despite her wish. What will the world be like in the future.

トムとジェリー（2021）

『トムとジェリー』。アメリカのコメディ。ティム・ストーリー監督作。主演はクロエ・グレース・モレッツ。

ホテルで働き始めた、ある若い女性のお話。

実写映画にアニメのキャラクターのままの姿で出演しているトムとジェリーには違和感を覚えたが、主人公を演じたクロエ・グレース・モレッツは終始可愛らしかった。

エル・ファニングと同様に子役の頃からずっと可愛らしいクロエ。最近、性的マイノリティに否定的なトランプを批判しつつ、ゲイである事を告白。その勇気は称えたいと思う。

彼女の意に反してトランプが大統領になる。今後、世界はどうなっていくのだろう。

Man on Fire (2004)

Man on Fire. An American suspense film. Directed by Tony Scott. Starring Denzel Washington. Dakota Fanning acted in it.

It depicts the friendship with the age gap between a girl and her hired bodyguard.

I came to like to see the film again after I did The Equalize 3 in which Washington co-starred with Fanning for the first time in nineteen years.

Dakota was really lovable around the age of ten. She appeared as a woman looking to be a tough American woman in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I knew about it after seeing the movie and was very surprised because her little sister, Elle, was still cute even if she grew up. Child stars vary.

The crime suspense film seriously portrays the actual state of child kidnapping at that time. Denzel was brilliant. He sharply moved in the action scenes and gave a cool act. 

マイ・ボディガード（2004）

『マイ・ボディガード』。アメリカのサスペンス映画。トニー・スコット監督作。主演はデンゼル・ワシントン。ダコタ・ファニング出演。

少女と彼女を守るために雇われたボディガードとの歳の差を超えた友情。

デンゼルとダコタが19年ぶりに再共演した『イコライザー THE FINAL』を観てまた観たくなった。

本作の頃のダコタは本当に可愛らしい。2019年公開の『ワンス・アポン・ア・タイム・イン・ハリウッド』では気の強そうなアメリカ女になっていた。観覧後にそれに気づいた時は、妹のエル・ファニングは大人になっても可愛らしいままなだけに、余計にびっくりした。子役も様々だ。

公開時のメキシコでの幼児誘拐の実態がシリアスに描かれた、デンゼルのクールな演技とシャープなアクションが冴えたなかなかのクライム・サスペンス。

Living in Two Worlds (2024)

Living in Two Worlds. A Japanese drama film. Directed by Mipo O. Starring Ryo Yoshizawa and Akiko Oshidari.

The film is based on a true story, about the love and bond between a son and his mother and filled with affection for the mother by the son.

It seemed to make a CODA boy talk about a typical story of a boy who goes bad depending his parents and gradually comes to appreciate them, however, I was deeply impressed toward the ending by the beautiful mind of Akiko, his deaf mother, that was highlighted by how uncool the protagonist, played by the handsome Ryo Yoshizawa, was. The smile of Akiko Oshidari playing the mother was also pretty.

ぼくが生きてる、ふたつの世界（2024）

『ぼくが生きてる、ふたつの世界』。日本のドラマ映画。呉美保監督作。主演は吉沢亮と忍足亜希子。

息子の母への想いが詰まった実話ならではの絆と愛の物語。

親に甘えてグレつつも次第に彼らの有難みを知るというありきたりな話をコーダの青年に語らせているだけに見えたが、美青年、吉沢亮演じる主人公、大のダサさが際立たせていた、ろうあ者である彼の母、明子の心の美しさに終盤で胸が締め付けられた。明子を演じた忍足亜希子の笑顔もまた美しかった。

Civil War (2024)

Civil War. An American thriller film. Directed by Alex Garland. Starring Kirsten Dunst.

The film tells the story of a young war photographer's growth. Although she gets terrified by odiousness in the battlefield and even vomits, yet she finally comes awake at the last minute. Her youthful and daring photography chilled me.

The lead, Kirsten Dunst, looked to be the most pretty in her life despite her age.

The tragicomedy of the United States, the big customer of the merchant of death, which has wars not only globally but also domestically. It made me remember the existence of the military-industrial complex which is said to be the mastermind behind the assassination of John F. Kennedy. It might have a profound meaning, though I could not feel it.

Osaka rebels would entice Nagoya and Fukuoka ones to revolt against Tokyo when a civil war occurs in Japan. However, there are no key materials, war weapons. If they drew the Self-Defense Forces of Japan into it, American troops stationed in Japan would notice and easily scrapped it, moreover, they might drop the third atomic bomb in the end. I hope that nobody will launch a coup.

シビル・ウォー（2024）

『シビル・ウォー アメリカ最後の日』。アメリカのスリラー映画。アレックス・ガーランド監督作。主演はキルスティン・ダンスト。

新人戦場カメラマンの成長譚。現場のおぞましさに怯えて嘔吐までするも土壇場で覚醒。若さゆえの恐れ知らずな激写に戦慄が走った。

主演のキルスティン・ダンストは、年取ったけど今が一番美しいかも、と思えるほど綺麗に見えた。

国外だけではなく国内でも戦争を始める、死の商人のお得意先アメリカの悲喜劇。どうしてもケネディ暗殺の黒幕とも言われている軍産複合体の存在が頭にちらついてしまった。何か深い意味があったのかもしれないが、私には感じとれなかった。

日本で内戦が起きるとしたら、大阪が名古屋と福岡を唆して東京に攻め入るのかな。だが、肝心の武器が無い。自衛隊を引き込んだとしても在日米軍にばれて簡単に潰されて挙句の果てには３発目の原発を落とされる目に遭うかもしれない。クーデターなんか起きて欲しくない。

Happyend (2024)

Happyend. The coming-of-age film is a Japan-U.S. co-production. Directed by Neo Sora. Starring Hayato Kurihara and Yukito Hidaka.

A case reminiscent of Scent of Woman occurs at a Japanese high school in the near future.

All of the actors are fresh and no one seems to be cast by pressure from the outside. More international students attend the school than today, so the class looked to be new, however, it was a common coming-of-age one. The students defy the adults getting used to the society, which is a familiar sight in the kind of movie, all the same, it looked to be comfortable, though I deep down thought that the young people should remember that they live off their parents' support. The shallow Yuta shows a manly spirit toward the ending, which made me lightly feel catharsis.

HAPPYEND（2024）

HAPPYEND。日米合作の青春映画。空音央監督作。主演は栗原颯人と日高由起刀。

近未来の日本の高校で、『セント・オブ・ウーマン/夢の香り』を彷彿とさせる、ある事件が起きる。

どこからかのゴリ押しで出演できていそうなタレントが皆無の爽やかなキャスト。外国籍の学生が多くて新鮮だが、普通の青春物。よくありがちな場面であるものの、社会に飼い慣らされた大人たちに若者たちが歯向かう姿は、脛齧りのくせに！と思いつつも微笑ましい。そして、ヘラヘラしていたユウタが終盤に見せる漢気の軽妙なカタルシスが沁みた。

Horizon Line (2020)

Horizon Line. A Swedish and American panic film. Directed by Mikael Marcimain. Starring Allison Williams. Alexander Dreymon acted in it.

It follows a former couple who accidentally board a small plane to attend their common friends' wedding ceremony. The pilot suddenly dies of a heart attack while flying it, so the former couple tries hard to coordinate with each other to survive the crisis.

I hesitated to see it for a long time because the Japanese title is like a cartoon's one, however, I watch it because it lasts just 92 minutes.

It was far more entertaining than expected, moreover, it was not only a panic movie but also a good romance. After seeing it, I knew that the two actors who played the former couple in it got married and had a baby after the release. The fact made me feel that I kept on listening to their sweet stories on and on.

元カレとツイラクだけは（2020）

『元カレとツイラクだけは絶対に避けたい件』。スウェーデンとアメリカ合作のパニック映画。ミカエル・マルシメーン監督作。主演はアリソン・ウィリアムズ。アレクサンダー・ドレイン出演。

元カップルが共通の友人の結婚式に出席するため偶然小型飛行機に搭乗するも、その操縦士が心臓発作で急死してしまい、生き延びるために二人で必死に協力しあうお話。

邦題が漫画っぽいのでずっと敬遠していたが、たったの92分だったので観てみた。

想像以上に面白かった。パニック映画であると同時になかなかの恋愛映画。劇中の元カップルを演じた役者たちは公開後に結婚して子を儲けている、という事を知った時は彼らのノロケ話を延々と聞かされた気分になった。

A Samurai in Time (2024)

A Samurai in Time. A Japanese drama film. Directed by Junichi Yasuda. Starring Makiya Yamaguchi.

It follows a samurai man who is transported from a time in the last days of the Tokugawa shogunate into the present time in Kyoto, Japan, and starts actively to work as a samurai drama actor.

Although I do not like time-slip films and I have heard that a human might be able to slip back in time to a past but cannot be transported into the future, yet I watched it because film fans loved it.

It kind of entertained me for a low-budget film from the beginning to the middle but thrilled me after another samurai man shows up and until it ends.

Contrition for a slash to kill his enemy. Tragedy striking his compatriots. The feud between Aizu and Choshu.

As if a real time traveler advised the director first hand, the samurai men's ideas, acts and way of life were realistic, which touched me. I felt that the film is a homage to not samurai dramas but samurai.

侍タイムスリッパ―（2024）

『侍タイムスリッパ―』。日本のドラマ映画。安田淳一監督作。主演は山口馬木也。

幕末の侍が現代の京都にタイムスリップして時代劇の俳優として活躍するお話。

タイムスリップ物は好きではないし、現在からは、過去には行けても未来には行けないと言われているが、大好評だったので観てみた。

序盤から中盤にかけては、低予算の割には面白いな、と思った程度だったが、もう一人の侍が現れてから最後まで惹き込まれ続けた。

斬殺への悔恨。同胞の悲劇。会津と長州の確執。

本物のタイムスリッパーが監督に直接アドバイスしていたのでは、と思えるほど侍たちの考え方、処し方、生き方がリアルで、それらにシビれた。時代劇というより侍へのオマージュに感じた。

The Equalizer 3 (2023)

The Equalizer 3. An American action-crime movie. Directed by Antoine Fuqua. Starring Denzel Washington. Dakota Fanning acted in it.

The movie is the third one of the The Equalizer series. Robert McCall is overwhelmingly strong murdering all the villains. Unlike John Wick, he will not be never wounded. The aura of Denzel makes me feel that McCall's unrealistic strength to be realistic. He slays only evil persons, so I will never feel sad that the persons die. I can also do catharsis from his moral slaughter show. I enjoyed to watch it as usual.

Dakota Fanning had co-starred with Denzel in Man on Fire when she was a child actor. I was overflowing with emotion when her adult face was overlapping with her young face in the 2004 film in the final stage scene where she and Denzel are alone in a room. However, honestly, I wanted to see the reunion between Denzel and Chloë Grace Moretz who had done with him in the first movie of the series. 

イコライザー THE FINAL（2023）

『イコライザー　THE FINAL』。アメリカのアクション・クライム映画。アントワーン・フークア監督作。デンゼル・ワシントン主演。ダコタ・ファニング出演。

『イコライザー』シリーズの３作目。その圧倒的な強さで、ジョン・ウィックとは違って怪我もせず、悪者を皆殺しにするマッコール。非現実的な強さだが、演じるデンゼルの佇まいがそれをリアルに感じさせてくれる。極悪者しか殺さないので人が死ぬという悲しみの感情も全く湧いてこない。カタルシスも感じられる勧善懲悪の殺人ショーだ。本作も面白かった。

子役時代にデンゼルと『マイ・ボディーガード』で共演したダコタ・ファニングも出演。大人の彼女の顔が、終盤のデンゼルとある部屋で二人だけになった場面で子役時代の表情と重なった時、感慨深くなった。だが、正直、シリーズ１作目で共演していたクロエ・グレース・モレッツとの再会を観たかった。

A Girl Named Ann (2024)

A Girl Named Ann. A Japanese drama film. Directed by Yu Irie. Starring Yuumi Kawai.

There are an equal number of nasty parents and unfortunate children. Too obedient children are especially sad because they need a long time to remove their parents' brainwashing. Adults with a secret intention pretend to be righteous and approach such children. The conditions are ugly and cruel. The film depicts the tragic reality, which was hard for me to watch. I felt comfortable only when the fragile Yuumi Kawai as Ann smiles occasionally. 

Drug addicts are said to never commit suicide. They seem to live a pleasure hell.

The role of Goro Inagaki might be suitable for a still unknown actor who are waiting for a chance.

Thinking the ending, it was more tragic than Ichiko. I do not want to believe that it is based on a true story. 

あんのこと（2024）

『あんのこと』。日本のドラマ映画。入江悠監督作。主演は河合優実。

下衆な父母の数だけ不幸な児童がいる。親の洗脳から解放されるのに時間がかかる素直すぎる子が特に哀しい。そんな彼らに下心を持つ大人が善人面して近づいてくる。醜悪で残酷な世界だ。そんな悲惨な現実が描かれた本作は観てて辛かった。救いは儚げな主役の河合優実が時折見せた笑顔。

薬物常習者は自殺をしないらしい。快楽地獄だな。

稲垣吾郎の役はチャンスを待っているまだ売れていない役者でよかったのでは。

ラストを思うと『市子』以上の悲劇だ。実話だとは信じたくない。
